Hello. My name is Cool Joe Ten.
Cool Joke. Ten.
No, that's not what I said. It's COOL-JOE.
[ Speech to text...is not kind... ]
Never mind.
Anyway, I got here at an inopportune time. I'm not a local. I want to know where we are and what's been going on, since it seems like things aren't right around here. Are those monsters a regular occurrence?
Any sort of summary would be appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.
[ Moments later, this text will also appear, because he would like to sign off on this properly even if it means he has to spend a few minutes doing Nokia texting. ]

This is the first time monsters have appeared in this city, first of all. It seems that this world has been pulling certain people across many worlds into this land, with only curious application on their phones called Ava to guide them. We still do not know the true purpose of this application, outside of it giving specific missions to its players (namely people like us), and it is up to your own discretion whether you wish to do them or not.
no subject
What missions were you given? If they're anything like what we experienced earlier, then I'll need to equip myself with something. It seems like this world isn't so kind towards people who aren't trained in combat.
no subject
Most of the missions in the app are easy enough to accomplish for a mere human, provided that you can solve the riddles in some of them. Just last month a dear friend and I hung up a swing for the children to enjoy, while entertaining the inane thoughts of an original poster to the app as to why we should destroy Australia.
(It did not go through, for the record. So it's best to take posts like that with a bit of salt when you see them.)
no subject
[ are...are you guys okay over here ]
I look forward to seeing what other ridiculous things the posters come up with. They're easier to stomach than monsters, at least.
no subject
That is true, I suppose. Everyone was afraid that the person plotting for Australia's demise is serious in their threats, but a month has passed and nothing seems to have happened.
...For now, at least. Wiping a country off the map does require more time than that.
no subject
[ like
what ]
I'll take those "missions" with a grain of salt, then. I want no part in something ridiculous like that.
no subject
Although, it might be a good idea to go along with this app's whims every now and then. You might find something worth your while.
[ like hanging toys and a swing on the trees in the forests, for example. that's not going to creep people out at all. ]

I see Shylock has already given you a summary, so I won't repeat it.
I will add, however, that you're in Vitae. Located in the United States, if that means anything to you.
[ poor kujo-san, truly ]
no subject
And the United States is a country I'm familiar with, but I've never heard of Vitae. That's helpful to know, though. Thank you.
no subject
[ he is enjoying this, thank you. ]
But you're welcome.
Judging from your third alias and your familiarity with us, am I to assume you're from somewhere in Japan?
That's a more recognizable place than some of the other newcomers that have found themselves here.
no subject
Yes, you're correct. I'm from Japan. I don't ever remember flying to the United States, but not much of this makes sense anyway.
Are you a local, or were you brought here under unknown circumstances as well?
no subject
[ ???????????
he's not elaborating on that ]
I have a home. A favorite restaurant. A sizeable amount of memories in this city. So I suppose I can say I'm a local, yes.
Did you want some sightseeing recommendations for your stay? Vitae is small but quite lively when there aren't shadowy monsters skulking about.
no subject
sir.
all he has to say to this is: ]
Sure, go ahead.
no subject
moving on, ]
Of course. To begin: we have a ryokan on the west side of town, along with a teahouse in the South district.
There's a bubble tea shop I'm rather fond of at [ADDRESS]. If we find ourselves trapped within the barrier long enough for you to hit the legal age, I do recommend the White Rabbit for some novelty drinks.
[ AH, ]
There is an observatory towards the North side, if you're the type to look at the sky.
For recently manifested water in a landlocked city, we also have the beach towards the south.
You'll find there's a bit for everyone's tastes. Present and future, considering new locations are appearing quite suddenly.
no subject
[ tenn ]
In all seriousness, this is informative. There are some locations from your list that I'm interested in visiting.
Though, when you say "new locations are appearing suddenly", I'm guessing that this is literal, given the various oddities around this city.
Places popping up without any sign of construction beforehand. Things like that?
no subject
[
god. ]
But, yes, something to that regard.
Construction may not be the right word to use here, however... You see, the forest surrounding us wasn't always there.
The beach, along with its water? Much the same. It replaced some sections of the forest when it appeared.
Much more impressive than a random building popping up overnight, isn't it?
Though the general populace remains ignorant regardless of the scale of whatever shows up.

Just be careful when you're in the city because anything can happen.
no subject
What are the other dangerous things that have happened here besides what we just experienced?
no subject
Memories can be dangerous too. It's possible.
no subject
What do you mean by that? How are memories dangerous?
no subject
Nothing is what it really seems.
no subject
That's very cryptic. Are you speaking from personal experience?
no subject
There's no way to stop it from happening once it starts. I still don't know the reason why this happens at all.

They are not. I've been here my whole life and they never appeared until now. But weird things had been happening for a while now.
no subject
[ He knows he's cool (??? citation needed) but!!! ]
From what I can tell thus far, things only seemed to turn unusual relatively recently. I wonder what's causing all of this to happen; I don't even know how I was brought here.

are you a rapper?
monsters aren't normal so far, but it wouldn't really surprise me if they became normal.
i used a raccoon against her owner to get a picture of him for a reason i'm still not entirely sure of, so at this point i think stuff's just kinda weird.
anyway more seriously, nice to meet you, kujo-san.
no subject
That is bizarre. Was that a request from the owner?
It's nice to meet you as well, Kurusu-san. Where are you from?
no subject
nah, hannah just cooperated because we gave her garbage. she lives with me now, she's actually pretty sweet.
originally, a sleepy little town in the middle of nowhere. everywhere else has just been temporary.
no subject
...Hang on, is Hannah the name of the owner or the raccoon?
I see. You must have adjusted well to living here.
no subject
nah, hannah is the raccoon's name. she wrote it in the dirt.
only as well as i can, honestly. i lived in tokyo for a year, moving back home to my podunk down was intensely boring.
