[It's evening when he reviews the sim card that came in the mail, unmarked but on the date that they would have expected their compensation from AVA. Along with new missions, Yuya's sure they're related. But it isn't until now that he looks at it carefully, and bites the bullet to see what AVA has given them.


And that's why he's in the hospital lobby, holding back tears as his hands hang covered in fresh burn marks and blood, being directed to the next open office in order to have his hands tended to. It's just the kind of thing a medical student can help with, for education.]

It's hard, but we'll figure out something. Though, most of my worries are about keeping everyone safe. Our lives have become a lot more dangerous.

[ He feels a burst of resolve when he says that. It feels like he's almost compelled to hold that belief, but he doesn't see anything wrong with it. ]

[Well nobody can blame what happened with Leon and Judai on the app.]

I kind of wish I could be like everyone that can't tell what's happening. [But are they really in less danger? Everyone's surrounded by a laser barrier.] You don't think we're being targeted, do you?

[ Noah folds his arms closer to himself, like he's feeling cold or anxious. ]

It might be that we're being singled out. Especially 'cause not even my family can really understand what's happening. Healing magic makes no scientific sense yet it's obvious that it does exist. Like we're the only ones who have woken up from some sort of illusion....

[Well... Yuya just won't mention that he believes in non scientific things.]

Or maybe only we can see the world this way, like spirits. That's what Jun thought it could be.

So... we're spirits? Or that the weirdness is part of the spirit realm?

[ Noah is trying to understand what Yuya could mean. While he was definitely a scientific adherent before all of this, his own abilities are already proving an alternative. ]

The second one, I think. I'm pretty sure we're not spirits.

[ Noah looks down at his hands. He's always had the inkling that they were on a different level, but... ]

... then what does that make us? Is this all an illusion? What if I'm remembering stuff that's real, and this isn't?

Uh. I haven't remembered anything or had any weird powers and I'm pretty sure I'm not an illusion?

[ Visible surprise crosses Noah's face. ]

The people whom I talked to all did. I also remembered some stuff that seems like... another version of myself. Another life.

Yeah, I haven't had anything like that happening. The weirdest thing has just been this app on my phone.

[The stupid app that somehow redownloaded itself on his new phone. Maybe it's easier to ignore it.]

I see... maybe you're the luckier few.

[ For Noah, those memories are both a blessing and a curse. Being told that he was the sole successor of the moon's will was... weird. If it was true, like his powers, then what was he to do about them? ]

I'm glad you didn't run into any of those vision nonsense.

[It's hard to feel lucky at all when he's still roped into this dangerous app business.

But he just nods.] Yeah, I guess I am too.

[ All in all, he's just glad that he was able to help Yuya before this injury crippled him forever. He knows from experience how the human body's regeneration is ultimately limited. ]

If you get hurt again, just let me know. I'll heal you anytime you need.

[ Maybe he should take his leave unless Yuya has something else to ask. ]
