Two things we should keep in mind:

1. Don’t touch the barrier by any means. I haven’t, but a baseball of mine has and it’s now a mound of toasted cow-hide.
2. It’s expanding. For the last ten days I’ve kept a close eye on three of the limit points for cross reference, and the barrier inches forward anywhere between two to three feet a day. It’s a remarkable increase, number wise.
3. There’s a third, I apologize. Residents might want to keep an eye out for new locations— our appless neighbors are going to say it’s been there for as long as they can remember, but I know we didn’t have an Internet cafe on Main Street.

Finally, I have a hypothesis that’s been giving me insomnia and those who consider themselves entertainment-fans might recognize it as a popular theme in science-fiction. The majority of you are young adults, so I’m more hopeful than not (if you truly understand it’s depth in study, now that’s another story). It’s a real quantum concept though, despite it being a problematic topic when people say “science” . . . Anyway, before I get too enlivened, some evidence here is bugging me. Is anyone familiar with the Multiverse theory?

If it’s hard to understand, I can always explain in person. Stop by the City Zoo after 4 p.m., Gibbon Exhibit. I’ll be there until late this week. Or, if you don’t mind, I can always go in depth here while we wait for our rewards or an update on our melodramatic blackmailing. I’m quite flexible.

It shouldn't be normal, young med student, but it is something that happens. I'm a responsible enough adult, it'll be fine.

For someone to say losing sleep is normal though, I hope you're alright, circumstances aside.

I'm managing somehow. I feel fine if I take coffee or tea.

[ Ah, yes a caffeine addiction. ]

One cup in the morning would be good. You don't start your day with a bit of caffeine, professor?

Sometimes I do a little worse.

I prefer cappuccino, if I’m feeling up to it. It hasn’t become a wake up ritual for me, though.

Cappuccino is great. I heard the coffee shop sells good ones. Have you been there before?

There's no substitute for real sleep but a hot drink is nice.


[ He only sleeps well during the weekends or if he's off school for some reason. ]

Yes, I've been there.

[ but he's not in too much of the proper headspace to be up for the small talk. ]

Any questions regarding these findings or what's been happening? Noah said you had an injury.

[silentends]

Noah went and told you that? Well, he's not wrong.

I was in pretty bad shape. I'm not sure how to explain what happened though.

Could I see you in person? It will be easier to see for yourself.

I hope you've got a moment to spare.

[ It would take him way too long to explain the nature of his injuries or how he even got hurt. Meeting in person might be the best thing to do for now. ]

I wouldn’t blame him for telling. He’s a worried friend, and this is pretty important for us to know if we want to figure anything out.

Come on over. I’ll be waiting with some friends. Don’t worry about them though, they won’t listen in nor tell anyone else.

[ Ezekiel is still hanging around the zoo, isn't he? That's where Nier's going next. He remembers which exhibit he's supposed to be entering.

By the time Nier arrives at the place it's been well over fifteen minutes. There's one young adult with silvery white hair and blue eyes. ]

Uh, hi Prof. It's me, Nier. Nice to see you again?

[ He looks and sounds different so that's why he felt the need to state his name. ]

[ape]

[ ezekiel hangs out with the gibbons at this hour, especially the ones that are conditioned for human contact. tiki is his lap buddy for today, hanging around his neck with long arms and supported by the rump just under the man's linked arms. when nier comes in, white hair is pretty easy to spot. offering food for the gibbon to stay busy in his arms, the blond makes his way over and . . . wow. ]

. . . Nier. [ his facial features were still the same, but it still took time, plenty of time, to adjust. ] I knew you looked familiar.

[silentends]

I'm happy you still recognize me. Seriously, I had no idea how to explain the physical changes I went through. This kind of thing isn't normal.

[ It just happened very suddenly. Nier was just taking a nap and he didn't ask for any of this. He's thankful that Ezekiel is very kind.]

[ tiki watches the visitor closely, and so does ezekiel. mouth into a slippery mango, the gibbon digs in while its eyes wander, and ezekiel prepares his clothes to get messy. he thinks it's lovely, so. win-win. ]

What happened?

[ Ezekiel looks busy handling those animals. As long as he's happy then it's all good!!]

Four days ago I woke up from a nap and I felt awful. This body doesn't feel like mine and I was covered in injuries with no memory of how I got them.

[ Could it be a form of amnesia? There's gaps in his memory so Nier can't exactly say what happened directly. Ezekiel might have his own thoughts on the matter. ]

I know that doesn't sound very helpful but that's all I can recall. What do you think?

[ape]

[ a conundrum, this was. noah had mentioned an assault, but now it looks . . . so unlikely. maybe there was, but for what motive? and why did his appearance change? he has something that stills blares in his head that goes something like MULTIVERSE, but hanging his head lower and thinking in silence . . . he prefers to have a little more to go off on. ]

It's hard to say. [ he crosses his legs and leans back against a window. ] Do you feel any different?

[silentends]

Yeah, I do. My body feels abnormally cold all the time.

[ He can't describe it in any way other than weird or plain bizzare. The past few weeks have been a serious of strange events. ]

Don't laugh if you see me outside wearing a winter jacket in the middle of June.

[ It's pretty ridiculous. Nier feels like he's out of place sometimes.
]
