Mm...considering I'm technically in the United States illegally, I don't think it'd be a good idea for me to chat up government officials.

I don't think anyone's gonna ask for your passport if you want to talk to the governor or something... you can just say that you're a tourist or something

Besides, even if there's a chance the governor is aware of the barrier, it's likely classified as confidential information. Unless we have someone with the right security clearance, we won't get anything from them.
